OPRAH WINFREYs Extortion Case
An Atlanta, Georgia man accused of targeting OPRAH WINFREY in an alleged $1.5 million (£769,000) extortion plot has waived his right to appear before a federal magistrate at a preliminary hearing.

Bonvillain was arrested in Atlanta on 15 December (06) and released on $20,000 bail (£10,000).

According to the criminal complaint filed in US District Court, he is accused of approaching "a public figure and the owner of a Chicago-based company" and threatening to release potentially damaging recorded phone conversations.
Bonvillain's attorney, KENT CARLSON, insists the whole thing is a misunderstanding, saying, "There is nothing to it. It's nothing. It was a big mix-up."
