Michael Richards - Jewish or Not?
Just when it seemed Michael Richards was about to leave the most troubling incident of his career behind, his publicist is having to explain how the comic could consider himself to be Jewish.Last week, crisis-management expert Howard Rubenstein acknowledged that Richards had shouted anti-Semitic remarks in an April standup comedy routine -- well before his appearance earlier this month in which he harangued hecklers with the n-word. But he defended Richards' language about Jews, saying that the comic "is Jewish. He's not anti-Semitic at all. He was role-playing."As Rubenstein's assertion circulated, Jewish organizations and commentators pointed out that the man who played Cosmo Kramer on "Seinfeld" has not converted to Judaism and neither of his parents are Jewish.Which makes him ..."Technically, not having been born by blood as Jewish and not formally going into a conversion, it was purely his interpretation of having adopted Judaism as his religion," Rubenstein told The Associated Press on Tuesday. "He told me, 'I'm Jewish,' when I asked him."He said there were two mentors who raised him and who had a big influence on his life, and they were Jewish. He said, 'I agree with the concepts and the religious beliefs of Judaism and I've adopted Judaism as my religion,"' Rubenstein said. "He really thinks of himself as Jewish."What do some Jews think?"You can't feel Jewish. It's not a matter of feeling. You can convert to Judaism. You can't not convert to Judaism and then be Jewish," said Rabbi Marvin Hier, founder and dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles.Hier defined being Jewish from two perspectives, if someone hasn't gone through the process of formal conversion."From the Orthodox point of view, if that person has a Jewish mother, he would be considered Jewish," Hier said. "In the Reform tradition, there's also a patrilineage. Under those categories, he would not fit."Rabbi Mark S. Diamond of the 280-member Board of Rabbis of Southern California agreed."There are many people who appreciate Jewish customs, who may embrace aspects of Jewish culture and practice, but that does not make them Jewish," he said. After his tirade came to light, Richards apologized on David Letterman's "Late Show" on CBS, saying his remarks were sparked by anger at being heckled, not bigotry. He also apologized to the Rev. Al Sharpton, and apologized Sunday on the Rev. Jesse Jackson's syndicated radio program.Rubenstein said Richards wasn't available for an interview Tuesday."He wants to rest," the publicist said. "He's been talking to his psychiatrist."

The View VS Danny DiVito
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Remarks made by actor Danny DeVito's about President Bush were bleeped out during an appearance Wednesday morning on ABC's "The View."
DeVito was on the morning gabfest to chat about his current movie, "Deck the Halls," about a battle with another character played by Matthew Broderick to see how many lights and other holiday decorations could be put on their houses.
But it was his comments about the White House -- and its occupant -- that got him in trouble with ABC's Broadcast Standards & Practices. "View," which airs on a seven-second delay, bleeped him twice while he was talking about Bush.
DeVito had been welcomed to the set by co-hosts Barbara Walters, Rosie O'Donnell, Joy Behar and Elizabeth Hasselbeck a few minutes before the incident.
"Danny has been out partying all night, with, tell them, I'm so jealous," Behar said.
"George ... George," DeVito said.
"Clooney," Behar said.
"I knew that the last seven limoncellos, it was going to get me," DeVito said.
Walters asked if him if it were true that he had been to the White House. DeVito said that he had been during the Clinton administration but not during Bush's term, causing ABC to bleep what DeVito had said before returning and then another bleep. DeVito continued his speech with various facial expressions.
A spokesman for DeVito wouldn't comment other than to say that DeVito had settled issues with the show after the appearance. An ABC spokesman confirmed Wednesday afternoon that the network bleeped DeVito twice but declined to discuss the incident further.
The ABC spokesman said he couldn't remember the last time "View" had been bleeped. The show aired live on the East Coast and wasn't cut during the West Coast feed.

Anna Nicole Hints At Another Pregnancy.... Anna Nicole Smith has hinted she may already be pregnant again less than three months after the birth of her baby Dannielynn.
Smith let the good news slip during a filmed pre-interview chat with a producer working for US news show Entertainment Tonight on Sunday (26Nov06).
Her big reveal was caught on camera and aired on the show last night (29Nov06).
The former model blurted out, "I think I might be pregnant again... Did that just come out?"
She added, "I'm not ready. (Boyfriend) Howard (K Stern) wants to have another baby... He wants to have a little boy."
But when the producer attempted to get more information out of the new mother, who lost her 20-year-old son just three days after giving birth in September (06), she decided she'd said enough.
Smith turned serious and said, "I feel like we should change the subject."

Britney Spears: Battle of the Ex's
Spears' First Husband Blasts 'Money Grabber' Federline.... Britney Spears' first husband Jason Alexander has slammed her estranged second spouse Kevin Federline as being "all about the money".
Alexander married his childhood friend Spears in Las Vegas in 2004, only to have the union annulled 55 hours later.
And he believes Federline is only seeking custody of his two children with the pop superstar so he will receive more of her money in their upcoming divorce settlement.
Alexander says, "The custody thing is to up the amount he gets from her.
There is no way that he will get it. It's all about the money.
"From what I understand he's already doing his thing. He's been asking beautiful women to join him backstage on tour.
"He'll get hold of pots of money and be off having a good life. He's just a lucky guy in the right place at the right time.
When I married her I knew she was rich but I did love her. I wanted her. If she had stuck with me it would have been so positive."

Lawyers - Sponsored Message
Is it true that all good lawyers only work for the big shot companies? This seems to be a common misconception and Simmons, Jannace & Stagg is a great example of this. Although their list of top notch clients includes several of the largest companies in the world, such as Home Depot U.S.A., Inc., Bank of America Corp., J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., Kmart Holding Corp., Best Buy Co. Inc., Washington Mutual Bank FA, Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc., Staples Inc., Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc., General Motors Acceptance Corporation, GMAC Insurance Holdings, Inc., Circuit City Stores, Inc., and Foot Locker Inc., among others, Simmons, Jannace & Stagg does not only aim to please the “big guys”. In fact, they are equally adept at representing small companies, municipalities and individuals, many of whom turn to them for quality representation at a reasonable cost. So why do so many clients world wide turn to Simmons, Jannace & Stagg? It’s because they listen to their clients needs and understand them on a level that most other law firms don’t bother to.
In addition to litigation, the firm acts as counsel to business clients and real estate developers in matters involving financing transactions, real estate and general commercial matters. This is only a small portion of what makes simmons jannace stagg a first choice for business world-wide.

Snoops 4th Arrest This Year!
Snoop Dogg is still a member of a notorious Los Angeles street gang, according to police.
The gangster rapper - real name Calvin Broadus - was arrested for possession of drugs and a firearm on Tuesday (28.11.06) outside Los Angeles' NBC studios where he had been filming a performance for 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'.
Police investigating the incident have now claim to have discovered the 35-year-old singer is still involved with the Crips gang - an American criminal group that is heavily involved with illegal activities such as crack cocaine dealing.
Police Sergeant Kevin Grandalski is quoted by Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Information developed during this investigation confirmed that Mr Broadus is both a convicted felon and an admitted 'Rollin' 20's Crips' criminal street gang member who continues to associate with other Crips criminal street gang members."
Snoop was charged and bail was set at $60,000. He is due in court on December 4.
The rapper made his affiliation to the street gang known when he spoke at the funeral of Crips co-founder Stanley 'Tookie' Williams.
'Tookie' was jailed in 1979 for murder and was executed last year despite becoming a reformed peace activist and a strong campaign backed by Snoop to get him off death row.
Other famous rappers associated with the Crips gang include Warren G and Nate Dogg.
