Shanna Moakler Punches Paris Hilton Over Travis Barker!

Paris Hilton says she got crowned by a former Miss USA yesterday, taking a roundhouse right to the jaw during a nightclub brawl with the beauty queen.

Shanna Moakler allegedly popped the airhead heiress after the pair exchanged insults at the L.A. nightclub Hyde a little after 1 a.m.

Moakler may have learned a thing or two about right hooks from former boyfriend Oscar de la Hoya, father of her oldest child.

"I mean, it must have hurt," a witness told the Daily News.

Moakler, 31, reportedly was miffed that Hilton, 25, had been seen smooching with her ex-husband - Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker - at a New York nightclub in September. Barker filed for divorce in August and hooked up with Hilton during Fashion Week a mere month later.

"Shanna apparently can't believe he's moved on so fast," a source told The News. Hilton's camp says the celebutante kept her dukes to herself and didn't throw a single punch after she was attacked by the statuesque ex-Playboy Playmate.

"Paris was just at the nightclub . . . when Shanna approached her and struck her on the jaw while shouting obscenities," Hilton spokesman Elliot Mintz said.

Moakler insisted she never socked Hilton.

"I absolutely did not punch Paris Hilton," she told the syndicated TV show "Extra" in an interview airing tonight.

Moakler told cops she was roughed up by Hilton's on-again, off-again beau, Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos.

"Shanna exchanged words with Paris. Stavros entered . . . and said he was going to 'hit' and 'beat' Shanna. Shanna replied, 'You're going to hit me? I'm a woman.'

Stavros then shoved her downstairs, twisted her wrists behind her back and poured a drink on her," Moakler's rep Susan Madore charged.

After the dustup, Hilton and Moakler headed to the LAPD's Hollywood stationhouse, where Hilton accused Moakler of assault and Moakler filed a complaint against Niarchos, who could not be reached for comment.

The LAPD said yesterday the "altercation" is under investigation. When the police probe is complete, detectives will decide whether to refer the case to the city attorney or district attorney for possible charges.

"There were no visible injuries on either party," said Officer Marjan Mobasser. That's because Hilton applied makeup to cover the wounded area of her jaw, Mintz said. Two witnesses to the ruckus told The News the fight started when Moakler saw Hilton. Things quickly went from bad to ugly.

"Shanna was screaming at Paris and then walked over to Paris' table and BAM - she hit Paris in the face. Paris, from what I saw, sort of defended herself," one witness said.

Said another witness: "Shanna was screaming \[obscenities\]. I was like, 'Oh, s--t, something is going to happen.' The next thing you know, Shanna hits Paris in the face. People scrambled and separated them."

Sources told The News that Moakler and Hilton had actually started bickering Friday night in Las Vegas at the nightclub Tao, though they did not come to blows then.

Moakler, recently booted off "Dancing with the Stars," had told People magazine she felt "betrayed" when she learned of Barker's liaison with the "Simple Life" star in September.

Hilton's trip to the police station was her second in recent weeks. She was hauled there in handcuffs Sept. 7 after being busted on a drunken driving charge.
