Angelina Jolie Lashes Out Against the Tabloids

Angelina Jolie: 'line Needs To Be Drawn Between Tabloid And Real Journalism'.

Oscar winner ANGELINA JOLIE has called for a line to be drawn between tabloid and real journalists, slamming the sensationalism that colours much of the coverage of today.

Jolie plays Mariane Pearl in A Mighty Heart, which tells the story of her husband Danny Pearl's kidnapping and beheading at the hands of Pakistani militants in 2002.

Speaking on Larry King's CNN show yesterday (14Jun07), Jolie said, "I would like there to be more of a line drawn between sensationalism and tabloid and real journalists.

It's silly. I mean, the other night at the premiere, there was a moment where somebody was asking me about whether or not we can overcome hate, and, at the same time, somebody was screaming for a fashion shot, and wanted me to turn around while I was talking to this person... It's just a bizarre thing that we're living with right now."

Jolie added that, as much as she liked to write and had "deep respect" for journalists, she wouldn't want to become one: "I don't know if I'd be able to write something without putting my opinion all over it. So I don't know if I would be very good."
